When do Memories become a keepsake? What does this entail? Well, we will get to that in a moment but let's start here first.
When Erica booked a Mini Special for her Kids, we expected to capture some great photos of her children. We started with her Pre-consult, went over details of time, locations, a prep guide, and wardrobe suggestions. Her appointment ended up being on a very hot day in Early June. Prior to her session, Erica was provided with Instructions on tips to keep her kiddos content, especially during her session. Originally, her Session was scheduled for 45 minutes to 1 hour long. Shortly after she arrived, I could tell that her Oldest daughter was a little shy, and very intimidated with her surroundings. The first hour Passed, and we had no success on capturing any photos.
Ok. So let's go back and talk about why Memories Become A Keepsake. Well When Erica Arrived, she had no intentions on being photographed at all. She was not dressed for the occasion, wasn't anticipating to participate except for keeping the girls calm and content. We literally ran around the studio chasing one child, and calming the other.
I gave the girls a little break, and talked to Erica about getting herself into some photos, by dressing into a gown from my Client Wardrobe. She agreed and we made Magic happen. We spent an amazing time capturing Erica with her girls. Watching her make that connection with her daughters through my lens made me tear up. This is exactly what photography is about.
I read a quote the other day that stemmed me into writing this Blog.
"Memories can lose their edges so Quickly." -Sarah Black
What does this entail?
Thank you Erica Cornelius for stepping in to these photos, especially last minute, and giving yourself a memory to remember for a lifetime.
